The Mercer County Historical Society is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Francis Guilbault at age 89. For many years, Fran was an invaluable resource to the Mercer County Historical Society. His knowledge of the Mercer County Fairgrounds aided Joyce Alig in writing her book The Mercer County Fair, Celina, Ohio. Fran was also an avid student of military history, another facet of his life which added to the legacy of the MCHS.

Fran’s zeal for history also led to him holding the position of treasurer on the MCHS board. During his time with the historic society, he also helped document the graves of the St. Henry Cemetery. His passion for history will be greatly missed.
